North Sea Cables Norge AS was established in Norway in 1989 as a subsidiary of the Scottish North Sea Cables ltd.
The first years were sales primarily based on surplus cable, but from 1994 NSC got all offshore cable manufactured by Delta Crompton Cables ltd. Sales picked up, and in 1995 the firm got a contract with Phillips Petroleum for delivery of all instrument cable to Ekofisk II project.
After three years as a distributor of Delta cable, NSC signed in 1997 cooperation with Draka Norsk Kabel AS (Prysmian Group), and we are currently their biggest distributors of offshore cable. In the mid 90s we also started stocking of ships cable, where we have gradually built up a large market share.
Until March 2003 the firm was part of Noskab group, with offices worldwide. Then there was the change in ownership in the group and 1 April 2003, the employees took the opportunity to buy out the company. North Sea Cables Norge AS became a 100% Norwegian owned company.
We have during all these years gained a wide experience with cable. The last 15 years we have also stocked Polyrad XT Type P (high flexible, mud-resistant cable), produced by General Cables Inc in the US.
May 5th 2015 North Sea Cables Norge AS was acquired by NOW Inc. See more at www.dnow.com
